The Housing and Development Network, consisting of 43 council-owned housing companies, has a pipeline of 50,000 homes ready to deliver, seeking third-party investment to sustain growth. These companies provide micro-local housing solutions where market models fail, delivering diverse tenures. The workshop will explore case studies on partnership models, risk mitigation, social impact, and financial returns, showcasing successful collaborations and opportunities for socially responsible investments in council-led housing projects.

Day 2 Wedneday 21 May

10.00 – 11.00 National goals, local solutions: Council-Owned Housing Companies Driving Delivery – in association with The Housing and Development Network
This workshop highlights the role of council-owned development companies in tackling the housing challenge where other organizations won't build. By addressing local needs, these companies deliver viable, mixed-tenure schemes on small sites. Case studies will showcase how aggregation and collaboration can scale these efforts to contribute to the national housing target. The workshop will foster dialogue on successes, challenges, and the potential for expanding council-led housing solutions.

Panel session debating the challenges and opportunities in delivering major infrastructure projects within the current public policy context.
